We are presently working on The Ninth Annual GSWLA Global Gala, our third virtual endeavor. This year's event is set for the evening of Friday, May 6th, but as in the last couple of galas, this is essential a curation of videos pieced together to create an event that is multicultural and multigenre.
If you're not familiar with the Global Gala, please peruse the pages at www.globalgala.weebly.com. Each of these links are constantly being updated, so check back from time to time. This year we are using GoogleForms once again. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfpAj-cU2gs3IXFPV0i1x-tlRn-QhQ2lQrppJvlC3eXBPReFg/viewform . This form represents an intent to submit a video, and will help speed up the process, but all artist will be contacted beyond the submission of the form as we realize things can change.

GLOBAL GALA "ARTIST PACKET" overview
In virtual events, all video submissions will be due on April 23rd, so that we have time to prepare the combination of the videos. Be sure to fill out the "Artist Packet"
The event itself will still be held on the first Friday of May, with the event being in the form of a "watch party".
All videos are curated/created specifically for this event, and are submitted by the artists or their proxies. Therefore, all artists permissions are granted through the submission of the videos. The videos are altered only in the linking of videos together and/or titling of the videos, unless otherwise discussed with the performers / owners of the rights to the video.

Who Should Submit
Submissions should be through the Googleform for every video to be considered. One member of a performance group need to submit and that person will be used for all contact about the event.

Unless requested otherwise, promotional materials should be separated from your video submissions in VIRTUAL performances, and limited or absent from LIVE performances. Why do we ask this? There are a few reasons for this. We wish to give every performer/ performance group an equal platform to get their message out. Depending upon how many acts we have, there are time constraints. As an educational program, we encourage our emcees and staff to write scripts and build networking skills. |
VideosFor Virtual performances, videos should be:
Landscape videos Have clear sound (if possible use a microphone or a microphone with headphones) Highest definition that is possible Have good lighting Allow for space for us to place titles and credentials (so please do not include words, credits, watermarks, etc). Please leave 1-2 seconds at the start of the video and 1-2 seconds at the end of the video to avoid abrupt starts and cut offs. Outside of the event itself, including promotional material that may be created for the event, your submissions will not be posted for other events or purposes.
