Global gala VIII production team
Past production teams
Over the years, the production teams running the Global Gala consisted of an ever burgeoning group of professionals.
Co-directors Earl De Mott and THS alum Logan Wescott worked together from the First Annual International Gala to the fourth installment of the show. THS theatre teacher Michael Camenisch took the booth during Global Gala V, and Earl C. De Mott took on the duties of technical directorial for Global Gala VI.
The team of artists solidified during Global Gala IV, when THS educators Rachel Crist Lizan and Adrienne Pucky joined De Mott with leadership positions. Both have been taking the stage for all of the Global Galas and have been instrumental in the success of the show onstage, backstage, and offstage.
Joining the team for Global Gala VI as part of our outreach arm, Tallwood teacher Sandra Alban assisted in contacting and coordinating outside groups to perform on Tallwood's stage. Tallwood educator Courtney Graver joined the team in 2019 as Special Programs coordinator, focusing her attention on the coaching of the poetry portion of the show.
Global Gala VII saw the return of the core production team of DeMott/Lizan/Pucky, as well as the continued support work of Alban and Graver, and the technical expertise of Camenisch. Joining the team as technical director in 2020 was Tallwood's Ms. Sydney Hickle.
For guest relations, Tallwood alumni Mariah Corbin (Global Galas I through III) , Lea Sampsell (Global Galas III through VI) and Anna Oliynyk (Global Gala VII and VIII) all headed House Management duties through the years.
With Global Gala VII going virtual, there was a realignment of duties and the watch party event brought in event management of Jessica Windish and Meghan Berberich, who continued this role with Global Gala VIII. Our Outreach Coordinator team expanded as well, as we looked beyond Tallwood, taking in Lynnette Fitch, Laurie Pillow, and Jessica Sanchez Tucker.
Nerissa Monton joined the crew during Global Gala VIII to enhance the website. Outreach Coordinators expanded as well to include Cassia Romano-Anthony and Ashley Madelein Archila-Ventura. House Management responsibilites (albeit virtual ones) went to alumni Lea Sampsell and Anna Oliynyk.
Photography
Professional photographer Thomas Gorman joined Global Gala for the first run (when it was called the International Gala).
Wilson's Photography during Global Gala II highlighted the talent as well as Headliner Bria Kelly. Global Gala III welcomed FilmBaes, a combination of photographic artistry of Benedict Manlapaz and Filip De Mott. Ashley Mallinson and Erica Navarrete (Ashica Photography) worked the cameras during Global Gala IV. The fifth annual Gala, saw the return of FilmBaes, with the support of Ashica Photography. Zoe Berberich's photography added a new dimension to the event with the introduction of the "Performer Photo Booth." Global Gala VI continued to showcase the work of Ashica Photography, but was joined by the talents of San Jose Filmfeast and Rebecca Shelton's photography crew in the booth. |
For the Virtual Galas (7 & 8), the individual artists provided videos to the gala and did all the editing prior to submitting. Titling, merging, transitioning, and creating bridge videos (such as the emcees or section headings) was done both years by Earl C. De Mott. Certain "special projects" were created by Ashley Mallinson and Adrienne San Jose, both who took on video editing responsibilities in Global Gala VIII.
